Genu Valgum

Genu valgum also known as knock knees, is when the lower extremities turn inwards causing the knees to come together when standing and sometimes even touch, but the ankles and feet are apart.


Causes of genu valgum include;

  • Physiological (normal growth and development)
  • Pathological


-previous shaft fracture of the proximal tibia

-multiple epiphyseal dysplasia (bone and cartilage disorder affecting ends of the bones in the legs).
